Dual Fuel Engine
The Dual Fuel engine is a type of engine that utilizes a mixture of diesel fuel and gas fuel or could run off of diesel by its self. The dual fuel engine is not capable of working on gas alone. These engines do not have ignition systems and do not use spark plugs.
As diesel is not a pure gas, and it is not a pure diesel designed engine, it has some disadvantages in the department of Methane slippage as well as fuel efficiency.. For example, the fuel efficiency can be 5% to 8% less than in a comparable spark-ignited, lean burn engine at 100 percent load. It could even be lower or higher loads.
Lift Truck Fuel Sources and Classifications
There are certain recycling materials handling applications which can prove very difficult for lift trucks. For example, scrap metal is among these issues. To be able to successfully handle items like this requires using the right kind of machinery for the job.
In this write-up, the 7 major lift truck classes are discussed, including the power sources like liquid propane gas, hydrogen fuel cell, electric, gasoline and diesel. The power source is linked to several of these particular classes. The main power sources for forklifts include Gasoline, Battery, Diesel, Fuel Cell and Propane.
The most popular overall are electric powered trucks, mostly in Class III, II and class I forklifts. In Classes IV and V, internal combustion trucks are more popular. The most popular electric power source is the lead-acid battery. Amongst internal combustion trucks, approximately over 90% are fueled by propane.
The battery is the forklifts most common power source. Battery fueled units make up around 60% of the new forklifts sold in the USA. Their benefits consist of: less maintenance requirements, quiet operation, the ability to be utilized indoors and outside with no harmful emissions.
